Jets’ late touchdown vs. Patriots overruled after questionable call by referees

Jets fans are going to be talking about this one all week.

In the middle of the fourth quarter, it appeared that tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins had a touchdown that would have trimmed the Patriots’ lead to three at 24-21. Instead, the play was ruled a fumble out of the end zone.

Trubisky completed 8 of 16 passes for 113 yards and a touchdown, saving his heroics for the extra frame.

Beckham gave New York a fourth-quarter lead over the Chargers with a 48-yard touchdown catch, then dropped to the turf to perform CPR on the lifeless pigskin in his hands as teammate Evan Engram looked on. The procedure, unfortunately, was unsuccessful, and Beckham spiked the ball into the turf seconds later.

What this means for the Giants: Someone has to win this showdown between 0-4 Los Angeles and 0-4 New York. Beckham is doing his best to make sure it’s the Giants. New York had a 22-17 lead with 13:30 to play after his big play.

“Does it hurt to think about it?” Manning said later in the season. “Yeah, because I knew I could have got him out (of bounds). But I thought I could have made a play. It’s funny how things work. You go one way, and it doesn’t turn out for you. If I would have made the strip and we recovered it, we wouldn’t even be talking about that.”

Vikings 34, Bears 17.

“You’re going to score a touchdown on this play.”
The week leading up to the game, there was a lot of talk in Chicago about what had gone wrong that season and what needed to be fixed (spoiler: almost everything).falcons_001
